Torbay for those unfamilar is a week long residential course consisting of two main training sessions a day (first at 8am !!!!!) then a few optional classes and other activities.

This years tobay was as usual very different from previous years.  Despite changeable weather and an unpressidented level of tiredness, the week was excellant.  All the usual activities where undertaken, - Ice skating, Bowling, Qasar, Club house entertainment, Bo Classes, swimming, etc.

This year saw in excesse of 40 people of which about 30 where training, always nice to be serounded by seniors for protection during training.

The major sections: -

Instructor Qualification

Conatulations to Isis Godfrey-Glyn on passing her KUGB instructor qualification.  As usual she gave her class a hard session.

Kata Competition

The kata competition waqs very well attended and I am particularly please to see everybody from Tekki entering despite being very tired from training and nervious of performing in front of these many seniors and a larger than normal audiance.

Lower grades : 2nd - Mike Apps, 3rd - Rosie Smith

Brown belts : 2nd - Lindsey James, 4th - Rachel Talyor

Dan grades : 1st - Kaley Lewis

Always nice to see Kaley finishing her kata and facing the correct direction - in house joke !

At the end of Torbay there is a Dan grading in which we are delighted to anncounce that both Erian Williams and Rachel Taylor gained there 1st Dan grade.  Very well done.
