A truly excellent weekend of Karate thanks to Sensei Bob Rhodes, who came up to Aberystwyth Sept 07. Sensei was good enough to come up the day before and take our normal training session which was not advertised, and quite a shock to some people it must be said. Good to see kyu grades sweating, such a rare experience. Sensei took the seniors out on the town for a whistle stop tour of virtually ever bar. Despite too much partying, everybody showed up the following day for an excellent session looking at bunkai and the application of kata – Sensei’s ability to see the wider picture and make connections between sections within a kata is awesome. Although glad to see him go due to aching everywhere, we eagerly anticipate his next visit – defiantly not be missed.
