Sensei Liane Sheppard 1st Dan

Liane Sheppard

Liane began training at Aston University in September 1990 with Sensei Roger Timmins. Sensei Sheppard trained for 3 years and obtained her 3rd Kyu in Jun 1993 when her course finished. The university entered the Student National Competition each year, and Sensei Sheppard entered the womens kata in 1993 and came 4th, Sensei Sheppard also trained with Sensei Terry O'Neal in Birmingham.

Sensei Sheppard trained at Aston University for another year, although travelled from South Wales each week. Sensei Sheppard started training with Sensei Bill Stone at Pontypool in 1994, but he subsequently moved into another style of karate, so Sensei Sheppard finished not being able to find a local club.

Sensei Sheppard re-commenced training in November 2004 with my family at Cwmbran under the instruction of Senseis James and Chris Masterman. Sensei Sheppard trained for a year prior to grading to ensure that she had achieved the high standard taught at the club. Sensei Sheppard achieved her 1st Kyu in February 2006, and her Assistant Instructor's qualification in August 2006, Sensei Sheppard has also been CRB checked. Sensei Sheppard has trained with Sensei's Andy Sherry, Bob Poyton, Bob Rhodes, Billy Higgins, Terry O Neal, Frank Brennan and Matt Price, and attended the Lancaster Summer School in 2006.

Sensei Sheppard obtained her 1st Dan on 17th March 2007 at Hendon, London.

Sensei Sheppard's background is a Chartered Civil Engineer, and she is a Director at an Engineering Consultancy in Cwmbran. She is a qualified mentor, tutor, School Governor and CITB (Construction Industry) School Ambassador.
